Jack came into my life when I was 17. We had gone to get some dog food, and instead I came home with a Jack Russell puppy.

Jack was my best dog, my rock, my shadow and companion through good times and bad. He had a way of helping me through the hardest moments, and he never left my side.

He would bark at dogs on TV, he once hurt his tail chasing his ball, and he made me laugh constantly. Friends still talk about him even now – he was truly one of a kind.

Jack was full of life and loved going on walks. One day, as we were walking, he stopped and looked up at me, as if to say, “Dad, I think it’s time for me to stop now.” I picked him up and carried him all the way home.

Jack was with me until I was 29 – 13 years of love, loyalty and memories I will always treasure.
